Johnny came from a irish Travellers community he was 15 years old
johnny was murrded in Ellesmere port cheshire in 1993 johnny came from a big familey who Traveled up

in liverpool johnny mother and father puled in to a big playing fealed and johnny and hes sister
and one or two of he friends whent to the shop that was in veiw from johnny caravan johnny was
called races names and johnny told the younger kids to run home for help. unfochanle johnny never
made it home johnny was atact by a group of boy thaye kiked johnny to death and johnny died.and
justice was never dune for johnny. all so johnny father died campaning for justice for hes son

I am so sorry
I am not a Traveller or Gypsy but a human being who hates racism. Johnny wasn't just a Gypsy, he was a human being. He was also a son, Grandson, a brother, an Uncle, and more than likely a good friend to those who knew him. I didn't know him, I came across his name and story whilst doing research for a play my little community group is writing about Rom Gypsies and arranged marriage. RIP young man.

I used to live nextdoor to one of those boys that did it Aunts and they were not a very nice family and now she is dead through drink and drug overdose and leaves behind four children.
Irish people have been persecuted enough through history having the best land taken from them and the North of their country still a part of the UK. Mindless racism like this is down to the parents ignorance and not educating their kids. I have great respect for the traveller communities as they still have the community spirit and respect for one another that has been long lost in other so called 'developed' communities.
It is a shame that more people don't pick up an Irish history book or even watch a film such as Michael Collins and get some insight into the Irish people and how they have been persecuted enough through history already.

Dear Johnny, I have read your story and it has made me cry. Im a gypsy and come from Surrey, i used to get bullyed at school all the time, but the kids are divs they dont understand. They had no right to do what they did to you. Trust me all dogs have there day! We are all gods children no matter what we are. I feel for your family, they must be broken. Time is a great healer. Im proud of what i am as i have been brought up different and i love my way of life and the way gypsys think. I love hearing my dear old nan telling me storys of years ago, how real gypsys lived and i take oath id love to have loved then as that was life, but u do it today and your called all the names under the sun and wont be left alone. Rest in peace my friend and to your family take care of yourselfs. xxxxx

How sad and wrong...
I always say what goes around comes around,the people that did this to Johnny,will pay..the world has a way ,trust.My great grandparents where irish travellers,but we settled here,and been here since,i'm well proud of my ancestry,i was also teased at school and growing up ,and to this day still get called names,on occasions,and they that know me ,dont even go their anymore,still ,i don't care ,what they think..i'm so sorry for your loss,it will get easier and time does heal,just don't make yourself ill ,with anger and grief,as thats not helping you or yours thats left behind..i'm sending ,love and best wishes to you,with loads of hugs and strength too,C.x.
